For the past few years I have been involved in the task of refurbishing my home, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and I like to think of myself as somewhat of an expert when it comes to picking out the right flooring.
Flooring can be an important feature of any room and could even be seen as a focal point, and so should not be ignored or forgotten about, as it can make your home look and feel complete.
Whilst decorating my house I have found out alot about flooring. One of my most important tips, is to always take home and use flooring samples before you invest.
Throughout my house I have used wooden flooring, particularly in the bedroom and living room, as it gives my home a refined feel regardless of the colour scheme of the room. A room could be modern and minimalistic, or old-fashioned and rustic, yet still benefit from the added feature of a wooden floor. Due to it being so versatile.
Hardwood flooring comes in a range of styles and colours. These types of flooring are also easy to maintain and if you have young children and pets it makes the responsibility of cleaning up after them, so much easier. However there are various rooms of the house where hardwood flooring is just not practical. In particular bathrooms and kitchens as water can permanently damage wooden flooring.
For rooms like this, its is advisable to use a flooring material like tiles or laminate. Both of which are very resistant and can cope with spills, stains and even flooding. Carpets are not feasible in these rooms either, for the same reason as hardwood flooring, they can easily be damaged. Carpets are more suitable in bedrooms and living rooms, they make a room feel more comfortable and cosy.
In my bathroom I have a laminate flooring, however it does deceivingly look like a wooden floor are designed to fool people into thinking the floor is actual wood/tiles, but are in fact a photographic image transferred onto a tough layer of board, they are also less likely to suffer from scratches than wooden floors. Laminate flooring is a more cost effective and useful way of having realistic looking wooden floor in any room of the house.
Granting the laminate flooring being synthetic. it looks and seem very real. I used a hardwood flooring dallas company not only for my bathroom, but also my kitchen too. Various styles and colour of laminate are available to add to the overall furnishing of that particular room. Tiling can be used on the floors of kitchens and bathrooms however tiles are much more pricey.
During my experience I have used a variety of materials, when decorating my house. To suit the needs of each room and my budget, I hope this blog has helped you!!
